Dedicated to the purity of nature and the absence of technology, High Sierra is the story of losing familiar surroundings, and finding yourself in the process.
Pumping drums, anthemic synths, intimate vocals and cinematic strings meet in this exciting new track from Adelaide artists Wolfjay & Bjéar.
Conceived while working on Wolfjay's EP Formative Years, 'High Sierra' is a fresh new take on 'Sierra', the opening track from Bjéar's self-titled album.
lyrics
Well we drove it to the moon’s soothing sight,
Thought that north was for the wild,
Didn’t sleep until we we landed in,
Daybreak’s calming cry.
Laid down our weary heads in Idaho,
Dreamt of rivers, wolves and silver snow,
There’s surely nothing like the road,
We’ve finally found our home.
When all is said and done,
I caught a plane back home to you,
And I feel you’re the one.
Now you’ve run,
Now you’re gone.

Impossibly endearing — I can't wait for Elsie's new EP! As an Adelaide kid originally I can't help but project every childhood memory of friends and family on to this one. So beautiful. Wolfjay
I'm very excited for this new record from Braille Face, the first taste of it 'Original Cast Recording' has made me cry a few times during lockdown. Feels like a warm embrace from someone I can't see Wolfjay
Last year after I moved to Melbourne I went to a Bad Apples label show in a park in the northern suburbs and it was just the most perfect thing. This album reminds me of that show. I love it a lot. Wolfjay
