about
Dichotomy is a queer pop punk anthem and EP about wrestling with extremes and fighting to not be defined by them. Made with love by Wolfjay
lyrics
Leave me at the first thought,
You ever have that we could,
Ever live up to the movie scenes,
In your dreams,
Take the time to reload,
Make yourself feel hollow,
The way it feels when nothing's ever as it seems
And lose my place, (find it again)
Take a chance (give it back when)
Realise (I could never be)
A dichotomy.
Go on take your best shot,
Try belittle me with,
I used to be good at being small,
but that’s behind me,
Sometimes I wonder if I’m hot,
If i’m masc or femme enough,
But I don’t care anymore,
It don’t define me if I lose my place (find it again)
Take a chance (give it back when)
Realise (I could never be)
A dichotomy
Cos I’ve gotta
Stop thinking
In extremes
Cos I’m freaking out
All I’ve gotta learn
Is how to soothe the burn
Of never knowing
Which way I’m going
And is it black and white
Or am I colourblind
Cos I can’t tell the red lights from the green
Am I a dichotomy,
Or am I floating down the stream,
Never finding a place to rest,
At either waters edge,
And is life as it seems,
Or is it something in between,
Waiting for us to stop our waiting
I’ve gotta
Stop thinking
In extremes
Cos I’m freaking out

Impossibly endearing — I can't wait for Elsie's new EP! As an Adelaide kid originally I can't help but project every childhood memory of friends and family on to this one. So beautiful. Wolfjay
I'm very excited for this new record from Braille Face, the first taste of it 'Original Cast Recording' has made me cry a few times during lockdown. Feels like a warm embrace from someone I can't see Wolfjay
Last year after I moved to Melbourne I went to a Bad Apples label show in a park in the northern suburbs and it was just the most perfect thing. This album reminds me of that show. I love it a lot. Wolfjay
